Luka Doncic drops 45 in his Dallas return & the Lakers clinch playoff spot!
Luka Doncic hyped after a play during their playoff clinching win on Wednesday night.
Luka Doncic & The Los Angeles Lakers clinch a playoff spot with a 112-97 win over his former team in the Dallas Mavericks. Earlier in the season a monster trade that included multiple teams sent Luka Doncic along with others to the Lakers and Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks.
It has been well noted that the big name stars surrounding both teams were left in the Dark about the trade, with Luka Doncic completely blindsided. Dallas Mavericks general manager Nicko Harrison has received major backlash in the aftermath of the blockbuster trade.
NBA Western Conference Standings
With one game left in the season the Dallas Mavericks sit at the 10th spot in the western conference, not a great position for a team who was a shoe in for playoff contention at the start of the season. To make matters worse after the Luka Doncic trade Former NBA Champion and starting point guard for Dallas Kyrie Irving goes down with a injury for the rest of the season.
As for the Lakers they came out of the trade on a high note, securing one of the leagues most dangerous threats at the point guard position Luka is set to take the torch in LA whenever The King is ready to pass it down.Currently the Lakers sit at number 3 in the western conference, it’s refreshing to see the energy and spark that the team gained after receiving Luka Doncic. Wednesday night Luka made his return to Dallas leading the way with 45 points in a playoff clinching win over his former team.
Before the game started Luka Doncic was seen very emotional during the Thank You Video Dallas put together for him, from the time he was traded till now he has made it obvious he had no intentions on leaving Dallas, I for one am glad he is a Laker, it’s about that time again for LeBron James to get another ring further cementing himself, and legacy in NBA history. Can Luka & LeBron lead the Lakers to a deep playoff run and possibly back to the promiseland? We will find out soon enough, watch the full game highlights of the Lakers 112-97 win from Wednesday night by clicking photo below.
