Ballad is sensational on his single called “Orange” 🍊
I came across this artist named Ballad not too long ago, I believe the lovely Ginga Soul an independent artist I’m a fan of shared his music and that’s how I caught wind of the sensation that Ballad is. when I listen to his music it takes me back to that 90s era Lenny Kravits or Maxwell. “Orange” is the first record that caught my ears. In this record ballad talks about how he has been losing sleep after having a split from his love interest. “If you ever find yourself thinking of me, call me” is what Ballad says, knowing he played a part in the destruction of the relationship. it takes a lot for one to admit their own faults in the downfall of a love. This record came at a time where many were saying R&B was dead, Black twitter and music fans around the country seemed to think otherwise as “Orange” gained traction and over 1 million views. Coming from an era in R&B where we had so many astonishing acts like Ginuwine, Avant, Maxwell & many others it’s hard not to be drawn into this musical genius of who Ballad is bringing that pure love and authenticity to the music we all fell in love with growing up.
Ballad says that “Orange” is a song about reconciliation, very fitting for a lot of people who may have regrets thinking back about how things went in a relationship they held dearly to their hearts. some may deem this as weakness in a sense while in my mind I think it shows strength and power. Moving further into his catalog you will find that Ballad has a wide variety of songs that will surley make you a believer that R&B in fact is not dead. “Selfish’ is a prime example of that, a record released in 2020 that is also one of his most popular songs to date. listening to this song you can feel the passion that’s put forth into his craft.
When I heard the song “Stories” I thought this one was a vibe for sure, Ballad said “When you miss me, you can catch me on my story” he is letting someone know that life has been better since they are gone. This guy is definitely creating his own lane in front of the world’s eyes. As he is well known in the New England area Ballad is spreading across the country and I wouldn’t be surprised if soon he will be very well known worldwide.
