Coming from someone who spent most of their life in Atlanta GA i’ve had the pleasure of seeing so many independent talented artist come from the city, and WARA is another one who has been in the game for awhile, well known in the Atlanta music scene. WARA came up in a special era in Atlanta, same era as Two9 & EarthGang amongst many others, while navigating the struggles of everyday life and street life he put those struggles and life stories in his music. When I first heard his music I was locked in on the project he released called “PSA” which dropped in 2015 coming after his iconic project titled “Kidnapped” which released a year prior, you can stream “PSA” clicking the cover art below.
In 2022 WARA released some of his best work on a project titled “Influenza” with collaborations from Michael Aristotle, Oliver Blue, & Grip. The project started off with a record bringing you into the life of WARA with “COMME ON DOWN” crazy production on this one. One of my favorite records off the project is called “SO SWEET SO SICK” ft. Oliver Blue, showed a little bit of devirstiy within his artistry. As a whole this project embodies how influential WARA is in the music scene coming from Atlanta so the title “Influenza” is very fitting. The record that stands out the most from this project to me, is titled “BLAZPHEMY” You can watch the music video below.
It’s been a little while since WARA has released anything, but yesterday he dropped back on the scene with “No Features Live” which if u haven’t yet go back to the top of this article and PRESS PLAY. It’s not hard to tell that WARA hasn’t lost a step when it comes to his abilities on the mic, I hope we as fans get more sooner than later.
