iindgo
Hailing from San Diego, California iindgo has emerged as another R&B artist that not only brings you dope music with his smooth voice but bringing substance to his music. Living in a false simulation, never knew how far you would take it “Simulation” is a dope single by iindgo that gives me a kinda Frank Ocean vibe. If I could think of a special way to describe iindgo would be “Generational Talent” because his art isn't just music being released with no value behind, no substance in it, he really takes time and effort to give his audience the best of him. As I dove a little deeper into his music and artistry I realized he is connected out in dayo with some of the top artist & rappers in the city whom some I have covered before, not to my surprise but talent knows talent so it makes sense that his peers so happened to be artist I'm already familiar with in the area. “Pull Up” is a beautiful symphony that takes u on a musical journey, you can actually feel the emotion in the record u can feel how much was put into the making of this masterpiece. iindgo has been on road to success this last year and I think he is almost there with this trilogy of songs he has dropped leading up to his upcoming EP. “Pull Up” , “Simulation” and last but not least the most recent single “These Days” 🔥 I'm super excited for the EP and I woild love to work with iindgo in the near future on something special i have in mind until then check out all three of these dope singles and keep a eye out for his EP dropping sooner than later.
Welcome to The Creators Room iindgo, we are excited to have you here I've been following you're journey for awhile now and I'm a big fan let's get started.
Tell us a lil bit about yourself, how you grew up and what that was like. Tell us how u got started making music?
• I grew up in super south San Diego , I can walk outside and see Mexico from my front yard , love it, I think I started music when I was in middle school, not exactly sure why I started, probably for the girls but it was something me and my friends started to really take interest in and shit was fun as hell coming up with songs during those times, it’s crazy looking back and seeing how much my sound has evolved.
There's a lot of dope talent that have came out of the San Diego indie scene who would u like to work with the most out of you're peers?
• Man, so much talent fr , out of my peers tho, only a handful of people come to mind and those are the ones I’ve previously worked with in the past, you’ll will probably hear me on a couple artists records in the near future , things are in the works.
What are u working on? Any new projects? What can your fans be on the lookout for?
• So I’m always working on new music constantly, like I’ll be working on 5-7 different songs at a time and have several in the vault before I drop anything.
If your reading this now I’m probably on my 2nd drop , then there are features with other artists that are happening , A couple videos , after that I’m going to start releasing everything in the storage until an album is announced.
As a singer in this day and age do u feel R&B is dead?
• It’s funny because I personally don’t think I can sing very well but nah I don’t think r&b is dead really , there will always be a an audience for it , but as far as the top r&b artist right now ? There definitely holding down the genre , the game is always changing so I feel like the trend will definitely circle back to a new version of r&b/soulful sound
What is the message u want to give to the world and you're audience through your music?
• For awhile I was on a very spiritual wave tbh , but now I really just want to be as vulnerable as possible and reach people globally, the world isn’t always a happy place and I realized most of my music always had a dark feel to it ,even when I’m in a good mood myself, I think I just want people to relate and feel validated, that’s it.
Who in the music industry inspires you musically ?
• I take a lot of inspiration from a lot of different artists/genres , but I think the one artist who inspires me the most is probably Frank Ocean.
My personal top 5 inspiration list is probably Frank Ocean, xxx , Sade, baby keem, and the 1975 but funny enough I haven’t really been listening to music at all lately
What do u find to be the toughest challenge as a artist coming out of San Diego?
• So as an artist with a different sound/genre I feel like it will take time to grow on people and I love my hometown but I don’t think I ever wanted to be known as an SD artist, I feel like a lot of artists get trapped there imo , At the same time I think it’s always been hard for San Diego artists to really break out globally for some reason, maybe it’s lack of community support ? That’s why I’m so appreciative when people take time to hear my work, means a lot.
How did you settle in on the name iindgo?
• To the people that know me personally, they’re gonna clown on me fr with this question because I’ve had so many different artist names growing up, but this one just stuck I guess. Like I said I was on a spiritual wave so if you know you know but I don’t really care for this name too much if I’m being honest, maybe my mind will change on that later tho.
