Jimmy Butler & Stephen Curry go off in the play in the tournament!

Now I won’t come on here and say I was a fan of “The Golden State Warriors” during their magical dynasty run some years back, but as a basketball fan I loved to watch them play. As of recent years, the dynamic team that once was Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green is only but a shadow of once was.

This season the Warriors were on the spectrum, wondering if they would even make the post season or not. And then it happened, out east down in south beach, the junkyard dog “Jimmy Butler” was going through an uncomfortable issue with his team at the time “The Miami Heat”. Letting the media know that he wanted out of Miami, Jimmy Butler soon found himself traded out west to the Bay Area.

With the loss of 1/2 of the splash Brothers in “Klay Thompson”, and obviously not having Kevin Durant anymore, the Warriors really haven’t been a Big threat to say the least. The acquisition of Jimmy Butler has gave this team back that spark I feel they needed. Butler can spread the floor, he plays defense very well, he can create his own shot off the dribble and he demonstrated that and more last night in The Warriors 121-116 win over The Memphis Grizzlies.

Ja Morant with the floater

Jimmy Butler fired up

In the battle Jimmy Bulter went off for 38 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assist. While Curry displayed 37 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assist. Combining for 75 points this new duo lead the Warriors to the 7th seed in the playoffs, and face th “Houston Rockets”🚀. Falling short of leading his team to a victory, Ja Morant put up 22 points and his team falls to the 8th seed in the western conference and will face the “Oklahoma City Thunder” round 1.

Western conference playoff standings

As electric and exciting it is to watch, Ja Morant play I feel that the Grizzlies are still missing a vital peace to the puzzle along with the unneeded attention Morant brings to the team at times.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this plays out, with the “Dallas Mavericks” not making the playoffs I think Golden State could be a contender against the “Los Angeles Lakers” to reach the finals this year. In time we shall see, for now let us enjoy round 1 of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. Check the full game highlights below just click the cover art.
