Last year I went to an event at the High Street Place Food Hall in Boston MA, dope space with good food and decor might i add. I attended the event in support of a artist i’ve said is my favorite artist in Boston, so it was fitting to meet another talented soul in the New England area such as Monica Whitlock. She is a singer/songwriter who makes music that’s captivating to the listeners ears, reflecting on life’s experiences, growth, and healing of the inner child. Monica Whitlock has created music that is in the indie pop space, but also gives off a country vibe to it at times.
Monica Whitlock is a former Boston Music Awards Nominee of 2023, capturing the hearts and ears of many with her project titled “Promise Me You’ll Stay Long Enough To Hear This” a 5 track EP that she released in 2022. With each record on the EP Monica put her heart in the music, taking you on a journey through her life’s experiences, love lost, and heartache. You can feel the energy that was put into the music
My takeaways from the EP are “Jack+Rose” and “March” both deserving of praise, I really loved “March” where Monica showed her poetic side in the record. You can listen to the full EP down below just tap the cover photo.

In 2024 Monica Whitlock released another EP titled “I Am Here Once” with the well known single “Carharttt”. Go and check out her music and follow the journey. I haven’t gotten a chance to see Monica perform live yet but February 7th she will be live in Rhode Island so will see.
