Tona
This guy Tona is crazy on the mic, hailing from Ghana Africa, bringing his audience a unique sound that stands out in the Hiphop scene. In 2015 Tona was rewarded with the Juno award “ Best Rap Recording” which is one of the top honors you can get in Canada. Racking up a handful of other notable awards Tona slowly is making a big name for himself in the music industry.
The name “Tona” was given to him because of the uniqueness in his tone when it comes go his rhymes and delivery. Looking at his catalog, you can see he has a solid and lengthy one that doesn’t disappoint when it comes to his pen work, or the production given. From the storytelling, to the metaphors put into the music it’s hard not to rock with the music if you are a lover of hiphop.
In 2024 Tona released a album titled “HOTC” which is filled with no skips from start to finish. A couple notables from the album are “Cookin”, “Farside”, and “Fame”. In 2025 Tona has released a couple of singles that have really cemented his name in the game, one being a track called “Legacy” where Tona speaks on how he lost everything but got it all back. A true hustler is always one who can lose it all and get it all back, that truly shows work ethic, determination, and grind. He said this time around he’s back on his job! Another record that really has Tona buzzing right now, is called “Wave Grease” Ft. Sayzee which released March 21st. The high energy of this record really put in a hyped mood when I first heard it, both Tona & Sayzee brought the heat when it comes to this record, the production gives me visuals of fast muscle cars in the city. Tona has been creating waves for awhile, but this one took it to another level.
If you been following me for awhile you know I like real hiphop vibes, like authentic bars, rhymes scemes, and metaphors. To be able to deliver on these skills is a God given talent that Tona holds, as a artist I think Tona is very well rounded and is headed for more success in the near future.
